The new Land Rover Discovery. Coming in 2017.

The highly capable LR4 will bow out later this month to make room for the new Land Rover Discovery. From the exterior skin to the lush interior, the new Discovery ushers in a new level of refinement. Compared to the departing LR4, the new stablemate will be 1,000 pounds lighter and will be offered with a pair of mills: the 3-liter 340-horsepower supercharged v6 and the endless gobs of torque (443 lb-ft) produced from an available 3-liter turbocharged diesel.

Versatility still remains the backbone. Starting off with the an available 3-row seating, which the 2nd and 3rd row can be manipulated via the touchscreen of the infotainment system or the Land Rover InControl app. Folding all the seats down grants their owner’s a spacious 82.7 cubic feet of cargo space. If that’s way too much space, the new Discovery is stacked with cubbies to hold your everyday items from cell phones and ipads. There is also a hidden storage compartment behind the HVAC controls to stash away your belongings.

Sitting above the HVAC controls will be a large 10-inch screen for the InControl Touch Pro system. The new infotainment system will keep you connected with the help of a 4g hotspot, usb 3.0, HDMI MHL connection along with Bluetooth 4.1. There are up to 9 usb ports throughout the vehicle with four 12-volt charging ports. Tunes and entertainment will be doled through a 10-speaker (380 watts) or 16-speaker (825 watts) surround system from Meridian.

Just like the interior, the Discovery is laden with off-road tech from an available air suspension system, hill descent control, 8-speed automatic along with an available 2-speed transfer case and terrain response 2 system.

This is just a little list of the new goodies but no matter where your adventure takes you, still expect the same Land Rover toughness.
